Paws for a Cause (Storyboards)
Tired of the monotony of his humdrum existence, a young, despondent college student treks to a generic institutionalized learning facility. On his way there, he has an encounter that would give him a new direction and lease on life.
A group project I directed with a team of five for a project management class. Included are the storyboards I drew out and some of the concepts we discussed on characters and location.

A despondent youth sojourns through a metropolitan community. His nose buried within his social media in hopes someone to distract him from his internal angst, boredom and loneliness.
To no avail, disappointed, he gawks at a loving family eating a hearty, decadent meal and enjoying each other's company. Depressed, he stares at his reflection. As he does so, he notices something shuffling within a cardboard box in an alley way.
It's a dog! Intrigued, he observes the disheveled pooch as he scavenges for food near his territory. He approaches the dog and the dog takes notice. Trepidation and wary, the dog steps back, preparing for the worst.
Unconvinced, but starving, the dog decides to take a chance. And with the risk, he reeks the rewards.
Apprehensive, but starving he takes a nibble as the young man eagerly observes.
Elated, and loving the jerky, he realizes the young man is trustworthy and means him no harm. However, the boy hears his alarm and realizes he needs to leave.
The boy departs, leaving his new friend behind. Depressed, the dog lies down but notices a shadow lingering before him. Later, the young man brings food for his new furry companion.
However, his new friend is nowhere to be found. He pulls down his headphones and instantly hears his friend is nearby. He turns his head to see the dog to be with the family, finally finding a place where he belongs.
Though ecstatic for his friend finding a home, he can't help but feel the void that follows. That's when a flyer to become a volunteer at local pet shelter hits him in the face. Giving him the bright idea of contribution to his love of animals.
Later, you catch the protagonist entangled with leashes as he walks shelter dogs awaiting adoption. Feeling his life enriched, he is pulled away by his new friends into a more meaningful existence
